About The Digital Beest

The Digital Beest is A.J. Van Beest’s home-away-from-home where he rants, raves, and very occasionally posts observations about the world around him. There’s not a whole lot of coherent, tightly focused writing here (that’s going to live at www.ajvanbeest.com/writing at some point in the future), here. Heck, there are barely any edited bits at all; mostly this is plain ol’ rough draft, fling-it-on-the-wall-and-see-if-it-sticks writing. Some of it’s good. Most is pretty mediocre. But I figure why not just jump off the cliff and the let the water at the bottom take care of itself.

Here’s the way I see my digital world: the blog’s for my rough-shod, knee-jerk reactions, my silly little slices of the space-time continuum, and other random bits of detritus; www.ajvanbeest.com is for more polished, more useful, and more permanent content. Except for the sandbox, which is a space I’m reserving to try out any web-related technology and just generally go nuts with whatever I find that day. And at some point in the nearish future, I’ll be building a site (I’m thinking beest-built.com) for my commercial presence on the Web. And that’s how I’ll spread things out. Or collect them, depending on your POV.
