I’ll be the first to admit it: I’m a desktop slut. The more real estate I have in front of my keyboard, the better. Currently, I have dual 22″ flat panels with my laptop (17″ screen) to one side, and another 22″ flat panel (for ad hoc work) to the other.
Before you say WTF? though, check this out: I currently have 21 application windows and 18 browser tabs open. STFU!
What kind of carbon footprint is this leaving? :-)
I don’t know about the carbon footprint, per se, but I think I can make a pretty good case for the over-all environmental footprint:
Now, to be fair, there are a *lot* more circuit boards and componetry in a flat screen, so there is a solid environmental cost there. I think overall, though, I come out ahead, and I have *dual 22″ monitors*.
