A plateful of media

We don’t have broadcast tv in our house. Because, you know, it’s trash. Except for the parts I want to watch. So we watch movies via “instant play” on a Netflix account, stream music all day via Pandora or Shoutcast, and generally pine for the day when we can choose whatever show we want to watch at any given time over our broadband connection. And yes, I’ve tried Joost (it pretty much blows because it totally takes over your system). I’ve also tried Hulu (better interface than Joost, but worse selection).

In the meantime, though, I’m curious about how all ya’ll get your media groove on. Have any of you tried the new Zune Pass service? Do you bittorrent (and would you tell anyone if you did; “I have a friend…”)? And FWIW, I petitioned the oracle, and this is what she told me.

If anyone especially has tips for watching sports online, I’d be grateful. It’s not for me; it’s for The Wife. Really. It’s a little intimidating watching football with her sometimes, but at least she doesn’t have a beer helmet. Yet. But she said she wanted to celebrate our anniversary this year for a change, so maybe…

I’ve only torrented this so far — highly recommended. It was guilt-free, since the writer/host pointed out the torrent.

And for a second, I thought you were talking about this oracle, and did a bit of a double-take :-)
