A Bit of Shared Wisdon

Apparently, the common wisdom of not washing down your asprin with cola also applies to ibuprofin and Rock Star. Just thought you’d like to know.

Not Good Enough for the Aliens

Apparently, I suck.

At least, the aliens seem to think so.

Earlier this morning, while I was ostensibly sleeping, aliens came to Earth. Now I didn’t actually see them abduct anybody, but hundreds of thousands of people, including all of Northland College’s athletic teams, were zombies shuffling toward holding pens where they’d wait to be beamed up.

I ran house to house, dodging inside at any sign of approaching aliens (sometimes a vertical rainbow with a light-blue bolt of “lightning” in it; sometimes the shadow of a ship; sometimes paranoia. Fortunately, even though I knew how to drive a car, which apparently was one of the criteria for zombiehood-cum-abduction, I managed to avoid the aliens, whom seemed none too bright, and holed up with other survivors/alien-rejects.

Now any of you who have followed my dream posts know I tend to dream in considerable detail, and while that continues to be the case, I’m not going to get into it with this one because while I enjoyed the dream (no nightmare, this – more comedic invasion than anything), ya’ll would have absolutely incontrivertible proof that aj really needs to lay off the crack pipe.

So I’ll just occasionally giggle to myself through the day while I adjust my tinfoil hat.

By The By

After a little rumination, I don’t think my blog’s gonna move to the new domain. I’ve got a good thing going here, so here I’m gonna stay. At least for now. But I’ve heard rumors of Weblogs getting bought out by one of the big boys. That’s almost never good for lowly users like myself. So we’ll just wait and see what happens.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, aj was still working, slowly, on his new domain. “Shoot,” he said, chewing on a piece of grass and kicking at the ground with his boot toe, “I reckon this could take all day.”

Sorry, Don’t Mind Me

I’ve just been a slackass blogger because I haven’t been a slackass in my analog life. In fact, lately I’ve been working like a rented donkey.

With the help of the two Dans (one of who’s the source of the rented donkey and other amazing aphorisms), I’ve got about two, maybe two-and-a-half, cords of wood in the basement, and another two or three cut outside. A bunch of the wood inside is split, and it’s all sorted by relative moisture content (from “just plucked from the mighty Amazon” to “90-year-old Vegas prostitute”).

Of course, I’ve also been hitting the wood pile by myself a lot better this year than I have before, so I even had a bunch opf work done before the Dans came over. Anyway, long story short, it’s all good. I’ve just been, in the imortal words of Lynyrd Skynyrd, “a truck drivin’ man.”

New Domain

So. Because the Web is about change, I registered a new domain today.

Actually, that’s a lie. I registered the domain because I have a vision that involves words and images and thousands of adoring, paying fans per day.

We’ll see. And I’ll keep ya’ll posted.
