My Plate Overflowth
Because I didn’t have enough things to do in a 28-hour day, I figured I’d finally get going on learning Perl, too. Jeesh. But thanks for the steer, Uncle Ray!

I assume I’ll not be posting this weekend, in case you care or, heaven forbid, were planning on scheduling your weekend around my blog. (really, get a life you *freak*!)
I may post, but if I do, it’ll be a bonus post, and you’ll be able to catch up with everything at work Monday morning, anyway.
Of course, after a couple months of being dead-balls certain that I want to get into computer security, I get seduced back to web design, at least for a little bit.
A guy at work asked me today for suggestions for how to learn about Web design, so in the process of hunting up some links, I came across this awesome article at ALA about resources for beginners. And then I started clicking.
And now here I am a few hours later thinking, huh, well I still like the idea of learning computer security, but some of this design stuff is cool, too, and I’m already making money doing it. But even as I write this, I know that security is the way to go whether or not I keep web design as a hobby.
Whew! That was close…
I usually stay away from Slate. I’m not particularly fond of slick pontificating, but I got sucked in this morning while updating what will, for a while – the shorter the better! – be our media center computer*, and I found this great conversation about writing in the wired world. It’s facinating, extremely well written (what else would you expcet, really), and has links to other promising reads. So for the three of you who read, check it. For the rest of you, you’ve got mail.
*You may bow down to me and call me your ubergeek, and it will be well because there will soon be a wireless media-fetching monstrosity hidden behind the far corner of my entertainment center, and I will name him squishy and he will be mine; he will be my squishy.
I tapped into something that didn’t want to stop this morning. It even resulted in some sidewalk chalk verse.
*Technical note for those who care: This post was originally supposed to happen yesterday, but for whatever reason, Weblogs was having issues. Or at least my blog was. But no longer. As you were.
…at least, if you think.
And for those of you who don’t like un-notated links, the above takes you to a site that mixes random Family Circus cartoons with random Nietzsche quotes. Don’t say you weren’t warned.
I’ve posted a couple poems this morning.
My question for you is this: Do you prefer to see my non-bloggy writing posted outside the normal blog stream (the way I’m doing it now), or should I just stick it in the middle of the flow (yeah, more like an trickle…) of my normal blog posts?
It’s been a while, no?
Some writing (non-raging-blog-flamey related words, even) has been finding me in the early mornings, lately, and I’ve been feeling a hankerin’ to share. Don’t say you weren’t warned.
Heck, I may even narrow parts of this blog to actually focus on something. I guess I wouldn’t hold my breath if I was you. That shade of blue doesn’t suit me.
